Can someone tell me if this is normal? I see a little dot on the hangy down thing but can’t get a close enough look

Yes, it's normal. The formal name of the "hangy down thing" is the uvula, and the small area of raised tissue on it is a lymphoid aggregate, which is likewise normal.

Hope this helps...
